This happens to me *so* often. I am also completely perplexed.

My current working theory is that if you have low self-esteem, this sort of insulting behavior appears to be confidence and self-assurance instead, which may be more attractive. So basically I think these people are trying to take advantage of those with low self-esteem.

That sounds like yet another one of those 'Mystery Method' pick up guys who didn't get it bombing. They have this idea that using a backhanded insult/compliment (Nice nails- I didn't know fake ones could look nice sort of thing) is an effective way to get your attention and make you want to get their approval.

Honestly, it makes me want to take my drink somewhere else, but hey. What do I know.

The desire for sex ebbs and flows, it is natural. I think it is more so for women as our sex drives are directly connected to our stress levels. I am in the age group of women who are working full time, financially supporting ourselves, maintaining our households without the help of more than children who can be less than helpful, and trying to maintain established relationships with friends and family. In my case, I am also attending college, so my stress levels are high even though the stress is from positive activities such as working and attending college. Sex is at the bottom of my list. Honestly, I don't have the time, the energy or the mindframe to indulge in it even though I know I need a balance of stress, work, social interaction and sexual activity to keep me sane. My priorities have shifted to attending to what is critical in my life, such as earning a living and completing my degree for future opportunities and sex isn't critical. It has become more of a luxury, something that is expendable among all life's responsibilities.

I never started wearing other things than the same old fetish gear until I saw Simon Blaise aka the King of Kink show up to a play party in a tuxedo and have this amazing scene with his girls that I still *think* about to this day when I am alone. If it takes kinksters like him to pave the way for the rest of us to break the norm and be kinky, then so be it!!! But we should probably try and follow his lead and just be ourselves.

Your post strikes exactly where the problem lies between the F/dom & s/male. There are expectations, hopes, fantasies and desires in the male, sub or not. I'll risk stating that females have the same innerworkings but not the exact same motivation. You can't change the wiring, just deal with the reality knowing that frustration and versatilitly are both part of the equation. Wish it wasn't this way...

Well expressed from a female standpoint. Please provide collateral responsibilities of the dom that the sub should expect (get out of the deal) with the assumption that no one is in this type of relationship without expectations.

Not at all weird that you might not have heard of them. The spanking scene has its own subculture and people (as separate from the general kink population here). I probably wouldn't go, at least not on my own, having met a few people from some of the other worlds, but I'm sure there are lots of good people out there somewhere.
